Delta Sigma Theta was founded on January 13, 1913 at Howard University by 22 phenomenal collegiate women who saw no limit to their vision for sisterhood, scholarship and service. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to those in need. In March of 1913, the Founders of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. performed their first public act by participating in the Women’s Suffrage March in Washington, D.C. More than 107 years later we pride ourselves by following in the footsteps of our Founders and remain in the forefront of action as a voice for those in need.
