Proceeds generated from the event will provide scholarships to graduating high school students in Morris County that are furthering their education.

The Morristown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. would like to thank all who participated in making our EMBODI sessions successful! A special thank you goes out to our Committee Chairs, Tracy Yett and Zahara Wadud-Pinkett, past panelists and most importantly the young men that attended the sessions. The participation from community leaders and alike ensures that every young man has the opportunity to discover their interests and grow in a safe and fun environment.

Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) Scholarship Fund- Deadline is May 31, 2013
Much of the music of Shawn Carter (perhaps better known as Jay-Z) details his rise from inner-city poverty to his current status as a multi-millionaire entrepreneur and CEO. Through his scholarship foundation, Jay-Z aims to assist those who are in a similar situation that he found himself in so many years ago.
The Shawn Carter Foundation is currently offering scholarships “to help individuals facing socio-economic hardships” receive a college education. These scholarships are individual grants ranging from $1500 to $2500, and students can re-apply annually.
Qualified applicants must be a high school senior, college student, and/or between the ages of 18-25 pursuing studies at a vocational or trade school. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be a US Citizen.
