The Morristown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. would like to thank all who participated in making our EMBODI sessions successful! Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) Scholarship Fund- Deadline is May 31, 2013
Much of the music of Shawn Carter (perhaps better known as Jay-Z) details his rise from inner-city poverty to his current status as a multi-millionaire entrepreneur and CEO. Through his scholarship foundation, Jay-Z aims to assist those who are in a similar situation that he found himself in so many years ago. The Shawn Carter Foundation is currently offering scholarships “to help individuals facing socio-economic hardships” receive a college education. These scholarships are individual grants ranging from $1500 to $2500, and students can re-apply annually. Qualified applicants must be a high school senior, college student, and/or between the ages of 18-25 pursuing studies at a vocational or trade school.
